Welcome to Blue Wings Rising, your brand new home for the Kansas Jayhawks here on Sports Illustrated's Fan Nation Network.
It's a fantastic time to be covering the Jayhawks, as there are plenty of stories to tell. Lance Leipold just put the finishing touches on his first recruiting class. Brandon Schneider and the women's basketball team are having arguably their best season in a decade. Bill Self has the men's basketball team in first place in the Big 12 despite another brutal conference slate. We plan to cover these and more as we gear up for the crazy season that is March Madness.
For those that don't know me, I'm Andy Mitts, and I am the editor-in-chief and publisher here at Blue Wings Rising. You might be familiar with my work covering the Jayhawks over at Rock Chalk Talk for the last 8 years. Or you may have listened to the Rock Chalk Podcast at any point in the last 5+ years. It very well could be the very first time you are seeing any of my work (if that's the case, welcome!). Regardless of how familiar you are with me or my staff, I'm glad you are here for the beginning of this new community of Jayhawks that we are building as a part of FanNation.
