On Tuesday, the Big 12 Conference announced the selections for All-Big 12 teams for the 2022 volleyball season, and the Jayhawks were well-represented.

In total four players from Kansas were selected, and all were named to the All-Big 12 second team. There were 15 players named to the first team and just 9 players for the second team, with an additional 6 freshman from around the conference named to the All-Big 12 Rookie Team. Coaches voted on the awards, but they were barred from voting for their own players.

Lauren Dooley played in all 104 sets for the Jayhawks this season, starting in all 28 matches. The graduate transfer from Florida was a huge part of the defense this year, tallying 115 blocks for an average of 1.11 blocks per set. That number is good for fifth in the conference this season. She was also dangerous on the attack, with a .468 hitting percentage, good for third in the conference.

Ayah Elnady appeared in 100 of the 104 sets for the Jayhawks this season, starting each of the 28 matches. The redshirt freshman from Cairo, Egypt was best known for her serving prowess, as she set two different school records. She tallied 8 service aces on September 17th against Omaha, the most ever in a four-set match. Against Texas Tech at home on October 15th, she tallied 7 service aces in a 5-set win, the most ever for Kansas. Her 0.38 aces per set was good for 4th in the conference this season.

Anezka Szabo  played in 84 sets for the Jayhawks this season, starting in 16 different matches. The super-senior had a .304 hitting percentage, which was good for 10th in the Big 12 this season. Her 192 kills put her third on the team, and she even put on a show defensively at times. On October 19th, she had 11 total blocks in Morgantown against the Mountaineers.

Camryn Turner was the primary setter for the Jayhawks this season, playing in all 104 sets and starting all 28 matches. The sophomore ended the season with 959 assists, which comes out to 9.22 per set, good for 7th in the conference. She also was stellar defensively, with 272 digs on the season. That was good for 2.62 per set, good for 10th in the conference.

The Jayhawks are in action later today as they start the NCAA Tournament against the 7th-seeded Miami Hurricanes up in Lincoln, NE.
