The Kansas Jayhawks are still looking for a marquee win to solidify their resume for the NCAA Tournament, and what better way to do that then to go on the road and beat the #1 team in the country? They Jayhawks have a chance to do just that as they head down to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns.

The Jayhawks are not currently ranked. The last time they were receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Poll was on October 1st, but they have been ranked as high as #19 this season.

Texas leads the all-time series 49-5, including a victory in the meeting between these two squads in Lawrence. For the second straight season, the Longhorns trailed 2-0 before rallying for a 3-2 victory.

Key Kansas Players and Fun Facts

Kennedy Farris was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week yesterday for her 20 dig performance against West Virginia.

The Jayhawks have multiple players who rank in the Top 10 in the conference across various stats:

  • London Davis 10th in hitting percentage at .314
  • Lauren Dooley 5th in hitting percentage at .383 and 7th in blocks/set at 1.13
  • Ayah Elnady 5th in aces/set at 0.37 and 10th in points/set at 3.46
  • Kennedy Farris 8th in digs/set at 3.02
  • Rachel Langs 7th in hitting percentage at .327 and 8th in blocks/set at 1.10
  • Camryn Turner 6th in assists/set at 9.38 and 10th in digs/set at 2.70

Turner leads the team in double-doubles, with 14 in 25 matches played. That includes 24 assists and 11 digs against the West Virginia Mountaineers last Saturday.

Elnady leads the team with 254 kills, and Caroline Bien is right behind with 243.

The Jayhawks lead the conference in blocks (2.63 per set) and are second in opponent hitting percentage (.179), which has them tied with Texas.
