Podcast: What makes this Kansas Basketball team so memorable?
While it has actually been a month since the Kansas Jayhawks won the National Title in New Orleans, the feelings are still fresh. But with the season over, it's time for players to make important decisions about their future. On today's episode I'm joined by Kyle Davis to wrap up some thoughts about the championship and how NBA Draft decisions will affect the roster for next season.
We started by talking about our lasting impressions from the National Title run, including the unique features of this team that aren't likely to be repeated. This led into a discussion about the right mix of super-talented freshmen and more experienced players on a roster.
From there, we moved into a discussion about the Barnstorming Tour. With so many players that are preparing for professional opportunities, how much should various people be blamed for having to cancel the stops scheduled for this weekend?
After the break, we looked at each of the players that have declared for the NBA Draft that have the ability to return. Specifically, we debated which player was more likely to return, Christian Braun or Jalen Wilson. A lot of it will come down to feedback during the draft prep process and NIL possibilities.
Finally, we looked at what the roster looks like if all of the players who have declared end up leaving. There are open question marks at nearly every position, and several big names in the transfer portal that are waiting to make decisions. With final NBA Draft decisions needing to be made by June 1st, there is still plenty of time for things to change.
