After seeing Kentucky fans talk about the possibility of Scott Drew being the next head coach, it seems like a lot of Big Blue Nation isn't excited about the thought of Drew taking over for Coach Calipari, but if you look at the last ten years, their success is somewhat comparable. Calipari has the edge but Drew has done well in Waco.

Jamie Shaw of On3 put out the numbers from the last ten years, and both coaches have had success, but Calipari has had more success in the tournament.

Let's take a look at the last ten years for both Calipari and Drew.

John Calipari

Record: 259-86
Tournament Appearances: 8
Sweet 16's: 4
Elite Eights: 3
Final Fours: 1
National Championships: 0

Scott Drew

Record: 240-94
Tournament Appearances: 8
Sweet 16's: 2
Elite Eights: 1
Final Fours: 1
National Championships: 1

Calipari has clearly had more NCAA Tournament success than Drew over the last ten years, but the Baylor head coach has been successful since 2020.

Calipari took the Wildcats deep in the NCAA Tournament, often early in his time in Lexington, but hadn't had much success since the 2019 Elite Eight run.

Drew hasn't had a ton of success in the NCAA Tournament aside from the recent National Championship, but hopefully, he will be able to recruit better at Kentucky if he ends up taking the job.

A decision about Drew's future plans is expected at some point today.
