Kentucky OL David Wohlabaugh Jr Enters Transfer Portal

The Stow, Ohio native made one start for Kentucky in 2022.

Kentucky's transfer portal business seemed fairly straight forward during the 15-day April window. It added USC offensive lineman Courtland Ford and saw a couple of players who weren't going to see field hit the road for greener pastures.

On Sunday, the final day of the window, the Wildcats saw its biggest loss post-spring, as offensive lineman David Wohlabaugh Jr announced that he was entering the portal after two seasons in Lexington:

“I want to thank the coaches and my teammates at the University of Kentucky for the past two years, I value the friendships and relationships I have developed,” he announced. “I’m entering the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility remaining and looking forward to the next chapter in my life," he wrote.

Hopes were high for the Stow, Ohio native entering the 2022 season, as he won the left tackle job coming into the regular-season opener against Miami Ohio, beating out Kiyaunta Goodwin and others. That was the only game he would start during his tenure as a Wildcat.

The 6-foot-6, 321-pounder played in 10 games across his two seasons at UK. He was a 3-star recruit coming out of Walsh Jesuit High School and chose the Cats over Arizona State, Penn State and West Virginia. Dating back to the original transfer portal window, Wohlabaugh is now the 17th departure for Kentucky.
