Over the years, a ton of special NBA players have come out of the University of Kentucky.

No college has more former players in the NBA than Kentucky, as they are just ahead of the Duke Blue Devils.

NBA news regarding a former Wildcat just came out as Rajon Rondo announced he will be retiring from the NBA after an incredible career. Rondo was a four-time All-Star and two-time NBA Champion.

Rondo was selected 21st overall in the 2006 NBA Draft. In his career, Rondo averaged 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game while shooting 45.6% from the field and 32.4% from deep during his nearly 20-year career.

It will be interesting to see what is next for Rondo, and perhaps he could stay around the game of basketball. His intelligence on and off the basketball court would make him an excellent coach if he wanted to go that route.

His best season of his NBA career came during the 2012-13 season, where he averaged 13.7 points, 11.1 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Boston Celtics.

Rondo will go down as an all-time great for the Boston Celtics, as he spent nine seasons with the team and won a Championship in 2008.

We haven't seen Rondo appear in an NBA game since the 2021-22 season, where he spent some time with the Los Angeles Lakers but finished the season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Congrats to the former Kentucky star on an incredible NBA career full of All-Star appearances and Championships.
