Kentucky's coaching staff is looking to add a few guards via the transfer portal, and Coach Calipari has reached out to some talented players.

One of the players Kentucky has reached out to is former Belmont guard Cade Tyson, who averaged 16.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists a season ago for the Bruins while shooting 46.5% from deep. What makes this three-point percentage impressive is the fact that Tyson shot 5.5 threes per game this season.

Tyson seems like a player who could be like Antonio Reeves, knowing he stands 6'7, an inch taller than Reeves and is an elite shooter.

The other exciting part of potentially adding Tyson is the fact that he is a sophomore, so he has a few years of eligibility left.

Of all of the players' Coach Calipari has reached out to that we have heard about; Tyson is the one that gets me the most excited. He is exactly what the Wildcats are looking for, and he helps on the boards, which is something this team needs after what we saw a year ago.

Duke, North Carolina, and Tennessee have all contacted Tyson, so it will be a battle of the big dogs to land one of the best players in the transfer portal.

Assuming the Wildcats will lose a handful of players to the transfer portal and NBA Draft, adding a guy like Tyson would really help the 2024-25 roster, knowing, for the most part, this is going to be a young team full of five-star freshmen.

Hopefully, the staff can get Tyson on campus for a visit soon, and the Wildcats can land this elite shooter.
