Kentucky Reaches Out to St. John's Transfer David Jones

In this story:
At this point, shouldn't Kentucky basketball be reaching out to anything with a pulse that's wandering around in the transfer portal?
The outlook for the 2023-24 Wildcat roster is beginning to look bleak, as coach John Calipari and Co. do what they can to try and lure Antonio Reeves, Chris Livingston and Oscar Tshiebwe back to Lexington to join a star-studded No. 1 recruiting class.
Believe it or not, there are still players in the portal that are drawing interest. Add former UK recruit David Jones to list. The former 4-star visited the Bluegrass, but committed to DePaul, kicking off his college basketball career in 2020.
The 6-foot-6 forward out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic played two seasons for the Blue Demons in Chicago, then transferred to St. John's for the 2022-23 season, where he averaged 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals. He shot 39.2 percent from the floor, 29.4 percent from 3-point range and 78.5 percent from the free-throw line.
For his career, he's averaging 12.6 points and 6.5 boards across 68 games and 45 starts. He made 17 starts for the Red Storm a season ago. Now, he's in the portal once again and the Cats are calling.
Travis Graf reported on Wednesday morning that the junior is receiving interest from Kansas, Arkansas, Memphis and Ole Miss, along with UK.
The Wildcat forward department is in need of a veteran or two, and while Jones won't answer all of the questions that are currently posed toward Calipari, he's a player that can fill the cup and a void or two on a roster that is scant entering the final week of May.
