Kentucky Makes Top Six for 4-Star 2024 EDGE Jacob Smith

Kentucky football has made the top six for Jacob Smith, a 4-star EDGE in the class of 2024:

Currently ranked as the No. 226 overall player and No. 17 EDGE per the On3 Consensus, Smith is considering Kentucky, as well as the following schools:

  • Notre Dame
  • Michigan
  • Nebraska
  • Georgia
  • Alabama

Alongside some heavy-hitters, Kentucky won't have an easy time winning the recruitment of the Cheshire Academy (Conn.) product. He's considered the No. 3 player out of Connecticut. Defensive coordinator Brad White is leading the recruitment.

Kentucky previously made the top 10 for Smith, as well as his twin-brother, a 4-star defensive lineman Jerod Smith, the No. 28 DL in the class. The brothers have previously stated that they felt they would attend the same school as each other.

Notre Dame appears to be the favorite for Jacob, while Michigan may be a frontrunner for Jerod. They've both taken three unofficial visits to Lexington, with the most recent coming on Jan. 28.
