Press Release from the University of Louisville:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville baseball team needed just seven innings for an 11-1 victory over Bellarmine on Tuesday evening at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Louisville (14-7) got back in the win column after dropping the final two games of the weekend.

The Cardinals plated at least one run in four of the six innings it went to the plate in the run-rule victory.

Brandon Anderson drove home the first run with a single in the first, while Ryan McCoy made it a 2-0 game with a sacrifice fly in the second.

Bellarmine (1-18) scratched its lone run across in the fourth, but the Cardinals responded with a four-spot in the bottom half.

Isaac Humphrey doubled home the first run before McCoy tallied his second sac fly of the night. Dylan Hoy singled home the fifth run and a dropped fly ball extended Louisville’s lead out to five through four innings.

The Cardinals tacked on five more in the sixth, getting a bases loaded walk from Luke Napleton in front of a three-run triple off the centerfield wall from Matt Klein. Korbyn Dickerson then laced a double into the gap to score Klein and give the Cardinals the 10-run lead needed to end the game.

Colton Hartman made his first collegiate start on Tuesday, allowing just one run over 3.2 innings with four strikeouts. Tucker Biven (1-0) earned the win striking out three of the six batters he faced in 1.1 innings.

Dan Snyder and Carson Liggett each worked a scoreless inning apiece as well.

Klein and Hoy each picked up two hits on the night with Klein driving in three.

Louisville now returns to conference play with a visit to No. 14 Wake Forest. The series begins on Thursday in Winston-Salem, N.C. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ACC Network.
