LOUISVILLE, Ky. - More than a month after former Illinois guard Skyy Clark committed, the Louisville men's basketball program has dipped back into the transfer portal.

Danilo Jovanovich, a forward who spent his true freshman campaign this past season at Miami before entering the transfer portal in early April, announced Friday that he has committed to the Cardinals. A source tells Louisville Report that Jovanovich will on scholarship for the 2023-24 season.

The 6-foot-8, 219-pound wing appeared in one game last season for the Canes, playing the final two minutes and eight seconds of Miami's 79-56 blowout win over St. Francis Brooklyn, but did not log any stats.

He missed the first five games of the season due to a left ankle injury before making his debut. Once healthy, Miami head coach Jim Larranaga opted to shelve Jovanovich and try to pursue a medical redshirt. It is unknown if they were successful.

A product of Milwaukee (Wisc.) Whitnall, Jovanovich was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 190 player in the Class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite. During his senior season, he averaged 29.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game, helping Whitnall go 21-4 for the season. He also took part in the 2021 iteration of the Nike EYBL with Phenom University's Team Herro, averaging 15.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, while shooting 61.3 percent from the field and 20.0 percent on three-point attempts.

The Cardinals went just 4-28 this past season in their first year under head coach Kenny Payne, and roster management has been in full swing since the end of their season. Louisville has seen seven players enter the transfer portal, including leading scorer El Ellis. Only Mike James, J.J. Traynor, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield and Emmanuel Okorafor are returning.

Conversely, Payne and his staff have been hard at work attempting to bring in fresh talent for next season. On top of Jovanovich and Clark, they are set to bring in five-star 2023 center Dennis Evans, five-star 2023 reclass guard/forward Trentyn Flowers, four-star wings Kaleb Glenn and Curtis Williams Jr., plus JUCO transfer guard Koron Davis.
