Report: Louisville Forward Danilo Jovanovich Enters Transfer Portal

The sophomore is the fifth player to move on from the Cardinals following the end of their 2023-24 season.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - We've now reached a starting five's worth of Louisville men's basketball players to enter the transfer portal.

Sophomore forward Danilo Jovanovich is the latest Cardinal to put his name into the portal, according to Rivals.

Jovanovich is the fifth Cardinal freshman to enter the transfer portal this offseason. True freshmen forwards Curtis Williams and Kaleb Glenn entered the portal on Monday, which was the first day of the 45-day spring transfer window, and both senior forward J.J. Traynor and true freshman center Dennis Evans opted to transfer on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward joined Louisville last offseason after spending his true freshman season at Miami, but had a minimal on-court impact. While he played in 20 games and made five starts, Jovanovich totaled just 24 points, 22 rebounds and five assists over 166 minutes played

During his lone season with Miami, the Milwaukee, Wisc. native appeared in just one game for the Canes due to an ankle injury, but did not log any stats. Jovanovich was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 190 player in the Class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite.

The influx of transfers following the end of Louisville's season is not a surprising development. The Cardinals finished their 2023-24 campaign with an overall record of just 8-24 and 3-17 in ACC play, resulting in the dismissal second-year head coach Kenny Payne.
