Game Notes

Louisville

  • After getting out-rebounded in eight straight games by a total of 53 boards, Louisville has won the rebounding battle in four of the last five games and has out-rebounded its opponents by a combined 45 over those five outings.
  • Freshman forward Kaleb Glenn recorded his first double-double vs. Georgia Tech on Saturday with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Glenn grabbed nine offensive rebounds, which were the most by a Cardinal since Chane Behanan in 2012, and the most by a UofL freshman on record.
  • Louisville had six players reach double figures scoring against Georgia Tech. It was the first time the Cardinals have accomplished the feat since Feb. 5, 2020, against Wake Forest.
  • Over the last 15 games, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield is averaging 15.0 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting 59.4% from the field (85 of 143) with six double-doubles. He had two double-doubles in the first 68 games of his career.
  • Guard Ty-Laur Johnson is one of five Louisville freshmen since 1992 to record at least 85 assists in a season, joining Edgar Sosa (2006-07), current team Video Coordinator Reece Gaines (1999-00), DeJuan Wheat (1993-94) and Jason Osborne (1993-94), the father of senior forward JJ Traynor.
  • UofL is one of two teams in the nation, along with New Mexico, with five different players who have scored at least 26 points in a game this season – Huntley-Hatfield (29), Tre White (29), Skyy Clark (29), Johnson (27) and Mike James (26).
  • Last time out: Louisville was able to pull themselves out of a second half deficit, mounting a 28-7 run to end their game against Georgia Tech and capture a 79-67 win.
  • KEY FIRST HALF RUN: Georgia Tech led by as much as four, with a 7-0 run between 14:00 and 11:14. Louisville responded with a 10-0 run over three minutes, taking a lead as high as six points. The Yellow Jackets’ Miles Kelly hit three 3-pointers to regain the Georgia Tech, that continued into halftime 32-30.
  • KEY SECOND HALF RUN: After Georgia Tech used a 18-11 run to take a 60-51 lead with 8:15 on the clock, the Cardinals responded with a 18-2 run that elapsed 5:52, giving the momentum back to Louisville at 69-62 with 2:23 to go. The Yellow Jackets followed with a jumper to bring the game within five but wouldn’t rally as the Cards would make six free-throws to close the game.
  • UofL shot 22 of 57 (38.6%) from the field, 4 of 18 (22.2%) from 3-point range and 31 of 34 (91.2%) from the free-throw line.
  • Louisville had six players in double-figures including Kaleb Glenn (15), Tre White (14), Ty-Laur Johnson (12), Brandon Huntley-Hatfield (12), Mike James (11), and Skyy Clark (11). It was the first time UofL has had six players in double-figure scoring since Feb. 5, 2020 against Wake Forest.
  • Ty-Laur Johnson recorded 12 points and two steals in 31 minutes of action, while going a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw line. He also dished out five assists.
  • Brandon Huntley-Hatfield had his 13th double-digit scoring game of the year with 12 points. He added nine rebounds in his 28 minutes.
  • Tre White did it all with six rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while adding 14 points in 37 minutes.

Boston College

  • Devin McGlockton is one of the ACC’s Most Improved Players, showing major jumps in several stat categories Through 23 games, McGlockton is fourth on the Eagles in scoring (10.8) and second in rebounding (6.3) and blocks (1.0). McGlockton’s per game averages have increased across the board: scoring +4.7, rebounding +2.0, and blocked shots +0.3. In ACC play (12 games), McGlockton is averaging 13.4 points and 7.0 rebounds.
  • Quinten Post is one of the best players in the country and his stat line for the Eagles this season is perfect evidence. He is the only major conference player averaging at least 16.0 points, 7.9 boards, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game. Using only points and rebounds: Post is one of nine major conference players averaging at least 16.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game; six of those players are on the Wooden midseason list; two in the ACC (Flipkowski, Omier).
  • Boston College’s 1.32:1 assist/turnover ratio ranks as the third-best mark in program history and the best since 2005-06. Since turnovers were compiled as a statistic in 1978-79, BC has registered an ATR of 1.30:1 or better only four times
  • Jaeden Zackery is 16 steals away from cracking Boston College’s all-time top 10 list. He has 143 swipes in 89 games. Zackery also ranks tied for eighth on BC’s all-time 3-point field goal percentage list, connecting on .386 for his career (98-254).
  • In Boston College’s ACC victories, the Eagles are averaging 74.8 points, connecting on 49.3% from the floor, 45.7% from the perimeter, and 69.0% from the foul line, while posting a 1.44:1 assist/turnover ratio and averaging 10.3 turns per outing.
  • In ACC losses, BC is averaging 69.6 points, shooting 42.6% from the floor, 29.4% from beyond the arc, and 71.0% from the charity stripe, while registering a 1.07:1 ATR while averaging 11.4 turnovers per game.
  • Boston College ranks 65th nationally (7th in ACC) in turnovers per game, committing 10.5 turnovers per game. It would rank as the lowest turnovers/game rate since Boston College tracked the stat beginning in 1979-80.
  • Five of Boston College’s 13 wins have come when the Eagles have trailed by double digits: Richmond (14, 1st half); Harvard (10, 2nd half); vs. St. John’s (10, 2nd half), at Georgia Tech (16, 2nd half); Notre Dame (12, 1st half).
