Louisville men's basketball's Malik Williams is sidelined six to eight weeks for a broken bone in his right foot suffered in practice Sept. 20.

Williams, who was elected as one of the team's three captains this season, had a screw inserted into his fifth metatarsal Sept. 23. The junior forward is expected to miss six to eight weeks following the surgery.

The 6-foot-11 forward started 20 games last season. He had four double-doubles. Williams averaged 7.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore.
