Action Network Projects Louisville as Favorite in All 12 Regular Season Games

The Cardinals are one of five teams that the Action Network is projecting to be favored in every regular season game.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The amount of buzz that the Louisville football program has generated since hiring head coach Jeff Brohm last December has known no bounds. The Cardinals have not only been tabbed as a sleeper pick to win the ACC, but some even view them as a sleeper to be "the next TCU" and make the College Football Playoff.

How much higher can the national hype for Louisville get? Try being favored in every one of their 12 regular season games in year one of the Brohm era. That's exactly what the folks over at the Action Network are projecting.

Action Network college football insider Brett McMurphy reported Wednesday that, according to senior writer and colleague Collin Wilson's college football power ratings, Louisville is projected as the betting favorite in every one of their regular season matchups. The other four teams are Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Washington.

Louisville currently sits at No. 17 in Wilson's power ratings, which were updated early Wednesday morning, with a rating of 87.5. Wilson's power ratings are a determined by a mix of "Wilson’s projections, which aim to judge the true quality of a team based on advanced metrics, coaching changes, year-over-year roster continuity and a host of other underlying components."

Louisville finished their 2022 season strong, eventually posting an overall record of 8-5 with a 24-7 win over Cincinnati in the Fenway Bowl. Many college football pundits also believe that Brohm is a perceived upgrade over Scott Satterfield - who ironically left for the Cincinnati job - at head coach. The Cardinals also avoid having to play the perceived top three teams in the ACC - Clemson, Florida State and North Carolina - this upcoming season.

While Louisville is losing playmakers on both sides of the ball, such as Malik Cunningham and Yasir Abdullah, Brohm has done a phenomenal job retaining and bringing in talent in a short amount of time. The Cardinals sport the No. 27 traditional high school recruiting class according to 247Sports, and are No. 1 in On3's transfer portal rankings for this offseason.

The Cardinals will kick off their 2023 season against Georgia Tech in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, Sept. 1.
