LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football had a blazing hot recruiting stretch in the Class of 2024 following the immediate end of spring ball, and that momentum has picked right back up.

Jacksonville (Fla). Bolles School linebacker Trent Carter announced Sunday that he has given his verbal pledge to the Cardinals. He chose Louisville over finalists Pittsburgh, Memphis, Coastal Carolina, and Appalachian State.

Carter was one of multiple prospects in attendance for the Cardinals’ spring game exactly one month ago. Since then, Louisville has landed commitments from five 2024 prospects, with offensive lineman Ranson McDermott, offensive lineman Jimmy Williams, wide receiver Shaun Boykins Jr. and tight end Dylan Mesman also pulling the trigger.

The 6-foot-2, 216-pound linebacker ranks as the No. 105 linebacker, the 152 player in the talent-rich state of Florida and No. 1,128 prospect in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Carter was all over the field during his junior campaign. Helping The Bolles School go 9-5 in 2022, he logged 110 total tackles (76 solo) along with six forced fumbles and an interception.

A two-sport athlete, Carter also participates in competitive weightlifting. At the state weightlifting championship last month, he placed fourth the Olympic competition (475) and tied for 12th in traditional (550) at a then-weight of 238 pounds.

Louisville now sports an eight-man recruiting class in the 2024 cycle with Carter’s commitment. On top of the five additions over the last month, linebacker T.J. Capers, running back Isaac Brown and quarterback Deuce Adams are also in the fold.
