The Cards add to their already loaded 2026 transfer portal class.
Jared Anderson - Louisville Report

Louisville is adding a major piece to their 2026-2027 roster, as former UNC guard Seth Trimble commits to the Cards according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.  Trimble entered the portal during the spring transfer window.  A recent Colorado district court ruling on the Class of 2022 paved the way for another year of eligibility.  That ruling stated that high school class of 2022 athletes who exhausted their fourth season of college eligibility in the spring of 2026 are eligible to play a fifth season in 2026-27.  Trimble went undrafted in the 2026 NBA draft & was picked up by the Washington Wizards as an undrafted free agent on an Exhibit 10 contract in June.  During summer league action, Trimble poured in 24 points against the Clippers in July.  A total of 27 players from the 2022 class are exploring options with the court ruling in Denver.

While Trimble’s long-term eligibility may not be a certainty as the NCAA fights the “5-for-5” ruling, Louisville takes the pledge during the ongoing discussions.  He will be added to a 2026 transfer class that is already regarded as one of the best in the country headlined by powerful forward, Flory Bidunga from Kansas and guard, Jackson Shelstad from Oregon.

Trimble, a four year player for the Tar Heels averaged 14 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3 assists per game last season.  In the Tar Heels’ February matchup with Louisville, Trimble scored 30 points, going 11-16 from the field, including 7-11 from the free throw line.  He also hit a game winning three-pointer against arch-rival Duke with .4 seconds on the clock, capping a 13-point win comeback win over the Devils in Chapel Hill.  Trimble is an explosive guard, who can get to the hoop with ease, also has the ability to facilitate to open shooters.
