Louisville's Christian Knapczyk, Carson Liggett Earn 2023 All-ACC Honors

Press Release from the University of Louisville:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A pair of student-athletes garnered Atlantic Coast Conference honors as the league announced its postseason awards on Monday.
Carson Liggett was named to the All-ACC Second Team, while Christian Knapczyk garnered a spot on the Third Team.
Liggett was Louisville’s most consistent starting pitcher during the 2023 season, finishing with a 7-2 overall record, a 3.42 ERA, and 64 strikeouts in 71 innings.
The right-hander took the ball in all 14 weekends for the Cardinals, reeling off wins in seven of his first eight starts. He became the first Louisville pitcher to win his first seven decisions in a season since Kade McClure finished 12-0 in 2016. Liggett allowed two earned runs or fewer in 11 of 14 starts, including a seven-inning, one-hit, complete game shutout against Michigan in Houston.
Knapczyk earned All-ACC honors for the third consecutive season after hitting .331 with eight doubles, 40 runs scored and a team-high 19 stolen bases. He joins Brendan McKay as the only Cardinals to earn three All-ACC honors since UofL joined the league in 2015.
The Louisville leadoff man ranked second in the ACC in hit by pitch and fourth in stolen bases. Knapczyk reached base via walk and hit by pitch 40 times versus just 19 strikeouts this spring. The junior recorded a hit in 39 of the 46 games he played and reached base in all but four.
The Cardinals closed out the season with a 31-24 overall record.
