Press Release from the University of Louisville:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 19th-ranked University of Louisville baseball team took a 10-7 loss in the series finale against No. 12 Miami on Saturday at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Louisville (28-15, 9-12 ACC) jumped out to a 4-0 edge on Saturday through the first two innings. Brandon Anderson doubled home two runs in the opening frame and the Cardinals got run-scoring singles from Gavin Kilen and Ryan McCoy in the second.

The lead was short-lived though, as Miami (28-16, 14-10) plated three runs in the third and fourth innings.

After giving up the lead, the Cardinals got it right back in the bottom half of the fourth. McCoy and Anderson each picked up their second RBI knocks of the day to tie the game at six.

The next four runs belonged to Miami though with the Hurricanes scoring one in the sixth and tow more in the eighth.

Louisville grabbed a run late on a pinch-hit RBI double from Christian Knapczyk in the eighth, but that would be all the Cards got on the day.

Kilen, McCoy and Anderson all had two hits to lead the Cardinals on Saturday.

Louisville’s next game will be on Tuesday against Bellarmine with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
