The Maryland Terrapins (13-2) are arguably the hottest team in college basketball, especially after their recent victory against No. 11 Ohio State.

Mark Turgeon has done a great job getting his reserve players involved. Chol Marial and Serrel Smith Jr have played well in the Terrapins' last three wins.

In their three-game win streak, the Terrapins have defeated two Big Ten opponents. Next up, Maryland will travel to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in another conference matchup.

Get to know the opponent

HC Fran McCaffery

The Hawkeyes would not be as successful as they are if it was not for Fran McCaffery. He is currently in his 10th season as Iowa's head coach and has a 10-5 record this season. He has taken the Hawkeyes to four NCAA tournaments and has led the team to eight winning records. McCaffery previously coached for Lehigh, North Carolina-Greensboro, and Siena.

C Luka Garza

Garza is ranked seventh in points scored per game (22.1) in all of college basketball. He is arguably one of the best players in the nation as well, averaging 10.7 rebound and 1.5 blocks. He is great offensively but also proved to be a quality defender. The 6-foot-11 260-pound center has made 56.2 percent of his shots from the field, including 34.2 percent from behind the arc. Garza can do it all and will be tough for Maryland to slow down.

G Joe Wieskamp

The sophomore guard from Muscatine, Iowa is second on the team with 14 points scored per game. His 6-foot-6 210-pound frame has made him a quality rebounder as well with an average of 5.9. Wieskamp has been almost automatic from the free throw line, converting 80.6 percent through 15 games.

G CJ Fredrick

Fredrick is the Hawkeyes' most-accurate player from behind the arc, converting a team-high 50 percent. The former three-star recruit from Ohio has made an impact on the court fast and the freshman is only getting better. He is an underrated player the Terrapins will have to keep their eye on.

Prediction

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on a two-game losing streak and they will host a red-hot Maryland team on Friday. The Terrapins' only two losses of the season happened on the road against Penn State and Seton Hall. Although Big Ten teams always pose a big challenge, expect Maryland to continue their hot streak at Iowa's home court.
