Miami opened up regionals of the NCAA Tournament with a commanding 9-1 victory over Maine, where everything was clicking for the ball club.

However, the script would be flipped for last night's game against Texas, as the Hurricanes fell 4-1 and find themselves in a tough situation.

With where they stand now, Miami will have to win against Louisiana Lafayette in the first game today and follow that up with consecutive wins over Texas to keep their hopes of Omaha alive.

For the Hurricanes, Karson Ligon started on the mound and only was able to last two innings for the Hurricanes after giving up four runs.

In the third inning, Rafe Schlesinger entered the ball game for Miami and kept the Longhorns scoreless across his seven innings. He put up nine strikeouts on 82 pitches, allowing just four base runners.

Unfortunately for Miami, run support was not coming for Schlesinger, as Miami's seven hits only translated into one run for the Hurricanes thanks to a home run to left field by Dominic Pitelli.

The star of the game though was Texas' Lebarron Johnson Jr., who threw an incredible 130 pitches en route to a complete game for the Longhorns in front of numerous scouts.

Whether he was faced with bases loaded on nobody on, Johnson Jr. controlled the game throughout as Texas now needs just one win to advance in the tournament.

A must win game awaits Miami as they'll look to win their next three games if they plan to advance to the next round of the tournament.
