In this story:

One McDonald's All-American is already committed to the Miami Hurricanes, but Jai Lucas could add another five-star player to the roster who has yet to commit.

Five-star guard Brandon McCoy is down to Michigan, Arkansas, Alabama, and Miami for his final four schools, as the ESPN broadcast for the McDonald's All-American game announced.

As of now, his top two schools are Michigan and Miami, with the Wolverines holding the edge. However, the Canes are not giving up on this talent, who could have a dynamic future for the program.

The one thing the Canes need is shooters, and after losing Noam Dovrat to the transfer portal, the Canes are limited from beyond the arc. A dynamic scoring guard like McCoy would do wonders for the Canes.

Moreover, the Canes have Caleb Gaskins for the roster next season, another McDonald's All-American.

It also highlights that the Canes have one recruit coming in for next season. Jai Luacs is going to hit the portal hard and get a star guard and big man that can change the course of the season.

However, more players continue to enter the portal, and some have started to turn their attention towards Coral Gables.

Recruits:

Lucas is also intuned to what the team needs and tried to have this season with Ernest Udeh Jr. and Malik Reneau. He needed a dominant big man who could score, rebound, and defend at the highest level. The Canes are going to be after that in the portal.

The Canes will also be after more shooting and rotational pieces that won't play into the roster's holes like last season. Even with one of the highest-scoring offenses in the country, the Canes couldn't shoot.

A guard like McCoy could add to that, as well as other players from out of the portal. With the departure of Dovrat, even while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field, Miami needs more than one knockdown shooter.

Miami will sit back and watch the Final Four as they prepare for next season, likely with some new ideas in mind on who can help them compete at the highest level next season.
