2024 Miami Prospect Manasse Itete Talks Hurricanes, Recruiting

One of Mario Cristobal's formulas for making a good team has been developing the offensive line. As a former offensive lineman himself and with the help of OL Coach Alex Mirabal, they've had a good track record in their time together.
Amidst Miami's preparation for their upcoming spring game at DRV PNK Stadium, some highly-touted 2024 recruits are starting to roll onto campus to witness the greatness that is Greentree.
Amongst those players would be a top 10 offensive tackle prospect coming from Modesto (Calif.) Modesto Christian by the name of Manasse Itete.
Itete stat down with All Hurricanes to talk about his recruiting process, how he got into football, and a mix of other questions.
Q: Why did you decide to get into football in the first place?
A: "I started playing football after I got hurt playing basketball, my coach told me to try a new sport (football). He told me he saw a lot of potential in me and he believed I’d be a good football player with a good future and I just need to be just patient and work hard every day."
Q: What is your favorite part about living in Modesto?
A: "One thing I like living in Modesto is the community, just having good people around and it's a small city."
Q: What are your initial thoughts on the University of Miami since you’ve been in touch with them?
A: "Miami is one of the school who are recruiting me hard and also I’m in touch with Coach Mirabal and Coach Edwin Pata as well, also Coach Cristabol is very amazing."
Q: Is there a school or schools that has been in contact with you more than others?
A: "I do have some school who are recruiting me hard like Florida State, Vanderbilt, Utah and Oregon, and yesterday I just got an offer from Kansas State; they've been talking to me for a while as well."
Q: Any updates on a decision deadline?
A: "I don’t have a ideas yet about when I’ll commit but I’m sure after some visits I’ll break down my top 5 and I’ll go from there."
Itete has only be on a handful of unofficial visits to this point, as he just recently penciled in his first official visit with Utah this summer.

However, Itete is scheduled for an unofficial visit to Coral Gables this coming Saturday the 25th.
He currently ranks as the 8th best offensive tackle prospect according to 24/7 Sports and a composite Top 20 offensive tackle in the class.
Itete continues to bring in new offers daily, Miami hopes to sway his decision with his visit this weekend.
