After growing and developing into a premiere scorer during his four years at Golden State, former Michigan standout Jordan Poole has been traded to the Washington Wizards in a massive trade involving Chris Paul. The veteran point guard was just traded to the Wizards from the Suns but will now be linked up with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson as Poole gets shipped off to DC.

As Curry and Thompson battled injuries during the regular season, Poole actually led the Warriors in scoring averaging 20.4 point, 2.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. In the playoffs, however, he began to struggle, particularly from three-point range, took several ill-advised shots and saw his minutes dwindle leading many to believe that his days in Golden State were numbered.

Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnaroski, the Warriors also sent a 2030 protected first-round and a 2027 second-rounder to the Wizards in exchange for Paul. Poole is just 24 years old and is under contract for four more years after signing a massive $140 million dollar extension just last year. Paul is  one of the older players in the league at 38 and is still searching for his first NBA Championship after trying his luck with five other teams. His 19th season will be with his sixth team in the Warriors.

While at Michigan, Poole displayed dazzling offensive skills and elite shot-making ability. He played sparingly as a freshman but rose to prominence as as sophomore. In year two as a Wolverine, Poole average 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. After that season, Poole declared for the NBA Draft and was selected 28th overall by the Warriors.

Poole has done well for himself in four years with the Warriors. In fact, CBS Sports Writer Reid Forgrave gave what is now viewed as an ice cold take when the Warriors picked him in the first round.

"Maybe the worst pick in the draft so far," Forgrave said. "This is an absolutely inexplicable pick by the Warriors."

Obviously Forgrave was dead wrong as Poole has become one of the more dynamic young scorers in the league. Playing on the same team as the Splash Brothers made shots hard to come by at times, but Poole will now likely be the key offensive figure in Washington allowing him to really spread his wings as a scorer.
