Jake Moody Makes Super Bowl History

Former Michigan kicker Jake Moody has struggled a bit as of late but that didn't keep him from making Super Bowl history.

Early in the second quarter of Super Bowl 58, the San Francisco 49ers decided to call upon rookie kicker and former Michigan standout Jake Moody to get the scoring started. But this was no ordinary kick. Despite the fact that Moody had missed a kick in his last three games, head coach Kyle Shanahan trusted his young kicker and put him out there to attempt a 55-yarder.

Nothing but net.

Moody's 55 yarder is the longest made field goal in Super Bowl history and broke a record that had stood for 30 years. The previous record was 54 yards by Steve Christie of the Buffalo Bills back in 1994.
