Former Michigan Star Off To Blazing Start During Rookie Season

In this story:
Is it any surprise that Jake "The Sledgehammer" Moody is absolutely killing it for the San Francisco 49ers? Moody, a third-round draft pick for the Niners, is absolutely perfect through the first three games of his NFL career and has done something that no kicker has ever done before.
The 49ers' Jake Moody is the first kicker in NFL history to hit 3 field goals and 3 PATs in each of his first three career games

So far, Moody is 9-for-9 on both field goals and extra points, which is special enough by itself. The nine made field goals also leads all kickers in the NFL and his 36 points through three weeks leads the entire league as well. Throw in the fact that Moody has already banged a 57-yarder through the uprights for a very respectable, early career long and things literally could not be going better for the Northville native.

How great would it be to be 23-years old, a successful rookie in the NFL on one of, if not the best overall teams, with about a solid 15 years of kicking life in front of you? What a situation for Moody to be in. Throw in the fact that he's doing it alongside Michigan teammate Ronnie Bell, whose first NFL reception last night went for a touchdown, and he's got to be one of the most content players in the entire league right now.
