J.J. McCarthy, Blake Corum Named To Preseason Big Ten Football Honors List

In this story:
Wednesday embarks Day 1 of Big Ten Media Days -- Michigan represents Day 2 and will speak on Thursday.
But to start the event, the Big Ten revealed its preseason Honors List.
It's a 10-member list with five players representing the East and five in the West Division of the conference. Two of the players in the East are on Michigan: J.J. McCarthy and Blake Corum.
Corum and Ohio State receiver, Marvin Harrison Jr., are both on the list and were both consensus All-Americans in 2022. Corum won the Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year in the Big Ten. Harrison Jr. was also the Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year in the Big Ten in '22.
Corum, who will be at Media Days on Thursday, was a Heisman-contending running back in 2022. He rushed for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns last year. That's a big number for missing the final three games of the season after sustaining a knee injury against Illinois.
McCarthy, who also made the list, is entering his junior season and had an (almost) full season as the starting quarterback for Michigan in 2022. McCarthy threw for 2,719 yards (64.6% completion rate), 22 touchdowns, and five interceptions in 2022.
