"JJ McCarthy Is The Perfect Marriage Between High Floor And High Ceiling"

Former Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy continues to impress everyone who really studies him.

The more time that passes after Michigan's national title game win, the more positive reviews about JJ McCarthy seem to pop up. Michigan fans are not surprised by this, but everyone who is getting to really take a close look at No. 9 for the first time seem to be.

Brett Whitefield of FantasyPoints.com recently dropped his first mock draft and goes on record saying that McCarthy is his No. 1 quarterback in this draft — ahead of Caleb Williams and ahead of Drake Maye. In the video above, Whitefield explains why he would take McCarthy before any of the other quarterbacks in the country. He cites things like footwork, arm strength, athleticism and overall arm talent, but also touches on what makes JJ truly special — the intangibles. Whitefield points out JJ's 27-1 record and winning pedigree. He talks about the off-field preparation and maturity. He also brings up the fact that JJ has played in and won the biggest games college football has to offer, whereas guys like Williams, Maye and even Heisman winner Jayden Daniels, have not.

When Jim Harbaugh accepted the job as the Los Angeles Chargers head coach, he went on record and said that McCarthy should be and would be the No. 1 overall pick. Of course, everyone kind of laughed at the idea and just chalked it up as Harbaugh going to bat for his guy, but the closer we get to April 25, the more it seems like some teams may actually have McCarthy atop their draft board.
