Likely Starter Keon Sabb Hits The Transfer Portal

For the first time since Jim Harbaugh left Michigan for the NFL, a potential impact player has decided to enter the transfer portal.

Well, this one is a bummer. There's no other way to slice it.

Per multiple reports, rising junior defensive back Keon Sabb has decided to enter the transfer portal.

Sabb was a big time recruit and a nice win on the trail for Michigan two cycles ago, so this one stings from an optics standpoint. It also stings because Sabb showed flashes of being a very good college safety and a member of a potentially dominant Michigan secondary. At 6-1, 208 pounds, Sabb has great size and length and can really run. With Rod Moore and Makari Paige both returning, perhaps Sabb thought he wouldn't see as much playing time as he'd like in year three. Outsiders saw it differently when penciling Sabb in as a part of a secondary that could make a lot of plays.

Last year, Sabb started four games and recorded 28 tackles and two interceptions, one he returned for a touchdown. Sabb is originally from New Jersey and then transferred down to IMG Academy in Florida for his senior season. It'll be interesting to see if he tries to find somewhere closer to home or opens things up to a national search for a new home.
