According to McMurphy's report, the Big Ten was reluctant to take any additional programs away from the Pac-12 after luring away both USC and UCLA, but the latest movement from other programs within the Pac-12 conference led the Big Ten to take action. Colorado is already set to join the Big 12 in 2024, and both Arizona and Arizona State could be close behind.
