WATCH: JJ McCarthy's Accuracy, Footwork, And Vision Are Elite

It has been an incredible start to the 2023 campaign for junior quarterback JJ McCarthy. Though the first two weeks of the season, McCarthy ranks No. 1 in completions (48), No. 1 in completion percentage (87.3), tied for No. 1 in TD passes (5), No. 1 in QB efficiency (202.5), and No. 2 in passing yards (558) within the Big Ten conference. Even more impressive, McCarthy has put up those numbers without having played in a fourth quarter to this point.

Although McCarthy was obviously solid as a first-year starter during the 2022 campaign, it's clear that he put in major work during the off season to improve his game. His arm strength, vision, movement within the pocket, and accuracy though the first two weeks has been nothing short of elite, which is why he continues to make a case for being a future first round NFL Draft pick.
While the competition will certainly get better as the weeks progress, it's hard to ignore just how impressive McCarthy has been so far. Here's a look at all 48 of his completions through two weeks, courtesy of Big Ten Football.
