With the recruiting dead period just days away, the University of Michigan is set to host several four-star prospects this weekend in Ann Arbor. With 22 commitments already in the fold, 247Sports currently has Michigan with the No. 2 overall ranked 2024 class - trailing only Georgia.

Here's a look at some of the prospects that are scheduled to visit Ann Arbor this weekend:

Gatlin Bair, WR

Even in a low-key state like Idaho, Gatlin Bair quickly gained national attention due to his blazing speed - and his recruiting ranking has ascended as a result. Currently ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of Idaho and the No. 9 wide receiver nationally, Bair is certainly a hot commodity in the 2024 class. That being said, it's worth noting that Bair plans to serve his LDS mission immediately after his high school graduation, meaning he won't officially enroll to his school of choice until 2026.

Jacob Smith, EDGE

Jacob Smith is certainly high on Michigan's wish-list for the 2024 class, and the the 6-3, 230-pounder seems to be leaning towards Ann Arbor. Not only does Michigan have a long track record of developing NFL-caliber edge rushers (Ojabo, Paye, Hutchinson, Dana, Winovich, etc.), the Wolverines have already secured the commitment of Smith's brother, Jerod.

Zaquan Patterson, S

Although he hails from SEC territory down in Florida, the Michigan Wolverines have certainly gained the attention of Zaquan Patterson. The four-star safety is viewed as a potential versatile piece at the collegiate level, with the ability to make an impact at multiple positions defensively and on special teams.

Patterson's top-five currently include Miami, Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, and Michigan.

Terhyon Nichols, CB

The 6-0, 180-pounder is considered the a four-star cornerback per the 247 composite, but he's modestly rated overall. However, he has 30+ offers from some big time schools, which indicates he might be underrated.

After being offered in early-March and then visiting just a week later, Nichols has become interested enough in the Wolverines to spend one of his five official visits on a return trip to Ann Arbor.

Jameer Grimsley, CB

Another talented athlete from SEC country will be in Ann Arbor this weekend. Jameer Grimsley is listed as a four-star athlete from the state of Florida and will make his way to the University of Michigan following visits to North Carolina, Penn State, Florida State and Alabama.

Currently a two-way player in High School (cornerback and wide receiver). Grimsley caught 25 passes for 356 yards and 3 TD in 10 games. On defense, he totaled 10 tackles, a PBU and an INT.
