Jim Harbaugh's Latest Move Proves That Michigan Is Focused On Winning It All

It has certainly been a successful two-year stretch for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines, but it's clear that they want more in 2023.

It has certainly been a successful two-year stretch for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines. After a somewhat rocky first six years to his tenure, Harbaugh's Wolverines have positioned themselves as a legitimate national championship contender over the last two seasons - with back-to-back wins over Ohio State, back-to-back Big Ten championships, and two consecutive trips to the College Football Playoffs.

Now, headed into the 2023 season, Harbaugh and his pack of Wolverines have taken on the "championship or bust" mentality.

As evidence, look no further than a new practice period that has been implemented in Ann Arbor. According to a report by FOX college football analyst Bruce Feldman, Harbaugh has added a "Beat Georgia" period as part of Michigan's football practices.

Of course, the only time Michigan and Georgia would meet would be in the College Football Playoff - as was the case in 2021 semifinals. During that meeting, the Wolverines were absolutely dominated by the Bulldogs by a score of 34-11.  In fact, Michigan's only touchdown of the game came during the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

Michigan fans might recall that Harbaugh had also implemented a "Beat Ohio" period during part of his practices two years back, in what appeared to be a renewed focus on what is arguably the greatest rivalry in all of sports. It's clear that the renewed focus worked, as Michigan is now facing the opportunity to beat Ohio State for the third consecutive season - which hasn't happened since 1995-97.

The fact that Michigan is now spending a portion of its practice focused squarely on Georgia, a program that has won the last two national championships, proves that the Wolverines are indeed viewing 2023 as a championship season.
