Sherrone Moore On Postgame Interview: 'I Apologize For The Language, But I Don't Apologize For The Emotion'

It was certainly a roller coaster of emotions for the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines in the lead-up to their road contest against No. 10 Penn State. Not only were they facing their biggest test of the season, they also found out they'd have to do it without their head coach just hours before the game.
Harbaugh's absence meant that offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore would once again take over as acting head coach for the afternoon, and he did a masterful job of coaching the Wolverines to their biggest victory of the season. Following the game, all of the emotions flowing through Moore's veins were on full display for millions of viewers to see.

On Monday, Moore was asked if he had gone back and watched his epic postgame interview from Saturday.
"I've heard it enough," Moore said with a big smile on his face. "No, I haven't. I've seen it on the internet and all that, and I was there, so I remember it. But no, I haven't really. Really for me, that's my emotion - I wear my heart on my sleeve. I apologize for the language, but I don't apologize for the emotion."
Moore also talked about the selflessness his team displayed during the big road win in Happy Valley. It became pretty clear early on that the Wolverines were in complete control of the game, leading Michigan to run the ball exclusively for two and a half quarters. In fact, the Wolverines finished the game with 32 straight run plays, an incredible feat against the No. 1 rush defense in the country.
"The coolest thing is that, all of the other players are unselfishly willing to let that happen," said Moore. "You've got a quarterback that's in the running for the Heisman, you've got an All-American running back, you've got some elite receivers and tight ends. At no point in the game did those guys say, 'hey, we've got to do this to win the game. We've got to throw to win the game. Give me the ball, I want the ball.' The quarterback could have easily said that and he didn't. So I think that was probably the cooler thing to see, cooler thing to be a part of."
Looking ahead to Maryland, Moore said that the Wolverines hear the outside noise, but that they're using it for motivation. He also said that, regardless of who's acting as the head coach this Saturday, a potential 1,000th win will belong to Jim Harbaugh.
"I definitely want coach (Harbaugh) to be there, to be coaching when that happens. And I would say it to me, and to everybody else, that would be his win. We wouldn't count it as mine. He's the head coach of this football team, and I'm just standing in there to make sure we don't mess it up. For him, it's a super honor, he's led us to so many wins, and I'd count it for him as well."
