Michigan Defensive Back Enters The Transfer Portal

The Michigan Wolverines are set to lose another defensive back to the transfer portal, this time with sophomore Damani Dent. The former three-star prospect out of the state of Florida didn't see any game action during his freshman year, and didn't see any action during Michigan's recent spring game.
Dent becomes the fourth Wolverine to enter the portal this week, joining RJ Moten (defensive back), Nikhai Hill-Green (linebacker), and AJ Henning (wide receiver).
Although you'd like to retain as much depth as possible, the Wolverines are absolutely loaded in the secondary - so Dent's decision to transfer shouldn't come as much of a surprise. With guys like Rod Moore, Makari Paige, and Mike Sainristil set to play major minutes, along with the rise of guys like Keon Sabb and Zeke Berry, the opportunity for Dent to see the field at Michigan in 2023 was minimal at best.
