7 Michigan Players Make PFF's Preseason All-American Team

In this story:
Michigan is set to play some football in less than two weeks. The Wolverines will take on East Carolina on Sept. 2 in the Big House.
But right now there are plenty of outlets that are releasing predictions heading into the 2023 season.
Pro Football Focus just put out an article predicting the three All-American teams, plus an honorable mention. There were seven Michigan players who PFF deemed as All-Americans.
First Team All-American:
RB: Blake Corum
OG: Zak Zinter
FLEX: Will Johnson
Blake Corum is about as a no-brainer as it gets. He was a unanimous All-American in 2022 and after returning for his senior campaign, it's hard to imagine not seeing his name on the first team after the 2023 season.
Zak Zinter has been a stalwart on the offensive line for the past two seasons. If Michigan can compete for another Joe Moore Award in 2023, it's also hard to imagine not seeing Zinter as an All-American.
Being named a First Team All-American as a sophomore is a big praise for Will Johnson. He started five games a year ago, but by the end of the season, he turned into the best Michigan cornerback. Entering the 2023 season, Johnson is primed to show why he was so highly touted.
Second Team All-American:
DL: Kris Jenkins
Kris Jenkins is the man in the middle for Michigan in 2023. Jenkins opted to return to Ann Arbor instead of pursuing his NFL dreams. The 'Mutant' has been mocked in the first round by several draft experts, so his decision to return to Michigan could really, really pan out for him.
Third Team All-American:
C: Drake Nugent
S: Rod Moore
Jim Harbaugh is adamant there is a center battle between Drake Nugent and Greg Crippen. But Nugent has been too good to keep off the field. He was one of the best run-blocking centers last season for Stanford and he fits the mold as the next great Michigan center.
Rod Moore has been as consistent as they come. Coming to Michigan as a three-star recruit from Ohio, he turned heads from Day 1 in Ann Arbor. There is a solid chance Moore isn't only an All-American, but a first or second-teamer.
Honorable Mention:
FLEX: Mike Sainristil
As a coach, you're not going to bat 100% when you try to transition a wide receiver to cornerback, but Jim Harbaugh looked like a magician after Mike Sainristil stole the show in 2022. Sainristil played corner/nickel in high school and he didn't skip a beat. There may be some questions about the secondary in 2023, but between Will Johnson and Sainristil, that isn't one of them.
