ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- It was a less-than-stellar start for Michigan on Saturday. Rutgers scored a touchdown on the third play of the game when Gavin Wimsatt hit Christian Dremel on a slant route -- Rod Moore took a bad angle and whiffed -- and he was gone for a 69-yard touchdown.

But Michigan settled down on both sides of the ball and after a Blake Corum touchdown, and a Semaj Morgan touchdown reception, the Wolverines entered halftime up, 14-7.

The maize and blue came out of the half and drove the field before James Turner hit a field goal. On the next drive, Rutgers went for it on fourth down and Mike Sainristil took a pick-six 71 yards for a touchdown.

Michigan went into cruise control the rest of the way. The defense shut down the Rutgers' offensive attack and McCarthy was able to pick apart the Scarlet Knights' secondary.

The Wolverines moved to 4-0 after beating Rutgers, 31-7.
