Michigan Makes Top Group For No. 1 Ranked Player In Pennsylvania

In this story:
A ton of attention is starting to turn toward the 2025 recruiting cycle and top players in the '25 class are starting to put teams in their top groups.
The No. 1 ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania named his top 12 teams. Four-star edge Zahir Mathis put the Wolverines in his top group along with Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, USC, Florida, Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Penn State, and Florida State.

Looking at the Composite rankings, Mathis is the 42nd-ranked player in the country, the No. 5 Edge recruit, and the No. 1 ranked player in PA. He stands at 6-foot-6, 225-pounds as a junior in high school, and by the time he enters college, he is going to be a beast.
Mathis has yet to visit Michigan, but he does plan on visiting the Wolverines. With what the maize and blue have done with the Edge position -- getting players into the NFL -- Michigan should be a very intriguing option for the four-star Edge.
Mathis is now the second top-ranked player in their respective state which has put Michigan in the top group. The other is CB Devin Sanchez out of Texas.
The Wolverines have three commitments in the class of 2025 right now. All three are defensive players: CB Chris Ewald, LB Mantrez Walker, and DT Bobby Kanka.
