Russell Byrd is expected to contribute right away when the Spartans tip off the 2010-2011 season. Moments ago he went into surgery and we will have an update later this evening on how the surgery went. He broke the foot on Wednesday.

 

Byrd is expected to make a full recovery and will return to playing basketball in eight weeks.
