MSU basketball to open regular season against Chicago State on Nov. 13.

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State men’s basketball team will open its regular season by hosting the East Lansing Regional of the O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic. The Spartans will play Chicago State on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Breslin Center. Northern Michigan and the University of Louisiana at Monroe will play in the other contest at 4 p.m. The regional championship will be played on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m., while the consolation game will tip-off at 4 p.m. The Michigan State-Chicago State game and the regional championship game will be televised on ESPNU.
The other three host schools for the classic are Maryland, Missouri and UCLA. North Florida, Hampton and Tulsa will join the Terrapins for the College Park Regional. Cal State San Bernadino, Weber State and Youngstown State will participate in the Los Angeles Regional. Missouri welcomes Central Michigan, Central Missouri and Fordham for the Columbia Regional.The championship rounds will be held at the newly constructed Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. The winners of the College Park and Los Angeles Regionals will meet Nov. 19 in a 7 p.m. ESPN2 contest, followed by the Columbia and East Lansing Regional champions at 9:30 p.m. in an ESPNU broadcast. The O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic championship game will be held at 10 p.m. on ESPN2 on Nov. 20. It will be preceeded by the consolation game at 7:45 p.m. on ESPNU.Championship round tickets at Sprint Center are now on sale and may be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (816) 931-3330 or through ticketmaster.comWith Northern Michigan taking part in the East Lansing Regional, the Wildcats will not play Michigan State in a Nov. 7 exhibition contest as originally scheduled. Instead, the Spartans will host Michigan Tech on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
