Strength & Conditioning Clinic For Basketball Coaches Set For March 14

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The 4th annual Strength & Conditioning Clinic for Basketball Coaches will be held during the State Boys’ Basketball Finals on the campus of Michigan State University on the morning of Friday, March 14. The clinic is specifically designed to give each attending coach (for both boys’ and girls’ basketball) a solid foundation in the basic fundamentals of strength training, conditioning and agility training, related to the sport of basketball.

This year’s clinic will include new speakers and topics related to basketball, including:

• “Training for Mental Toughness Through Strength & Conditioning” - Mike Vorkapich, Michigan State Basketball Strength & Conditioning Coach and Clinic Director

• “Conditioning Through Individual Skill Training” - Joe Griffin, Graduate Assistant Coach, Michigan State Men's Basketball

• “Sport-Specific Functional Training for Basketball” - Tim "Red" Wakeham, Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports - Michigan State University

• “Training with a Limited Budget, Equipment & Facilities” - Paul Harker, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach - Wayne State University 

• "Hands-on Breakout Session - Core Training and Dynamic Hip Flexibility"

The cost is $50.00 per coach.
