2016 MSU Football RB Abdul Adams Ready to Get to East Lansing BETTER, Not Bitter and Motivated by an Amazing Family!

It happens to everyone.

It is never easy, but at some point everyone will lose their mother.

Future MSU running back Abdul Adams knows that pain all too well. Sadly it was much earlier in life than most.

The class of 2016 recruit from Washington D.C. lost his mother in 2008, when we was only in middle school.

Now, as he prepares to leave the east coast for the mid west, it’s his mother that he plays for.

“I definitely use that as motivation,” Adams said. “I know she’s watching down on me, and I can’t disappoint her.”

If Adams ever needs a reminder about who he is playing for, all he needs to do it look on his arm, where she is forever immortalized.

“I’ve got her tattoo on my arm,” he said. “I’ve got her name with some angel wings tattooed on my arm.”

Although Adams has an ability to be a powerful running back, it’s clear he has a soft spot in his heart for not only his mother, but his entire family.

Adams’s father is still around, and plays a pivotal role in his life and development.

“My dad means a lot to me,” he said. “He gets up everyday, works hard, and grinds everyday of the week to provide for me and my family.”

Some of that work ethic has rubbed off on Adams over the years.

“When I watch him it motivates me to be a hard worker, and a strong young man,” he said.

When Adams comes to East Lansing one thing has become clear, whether they are cheering from the stands or looking down from above he will have the support of his family during every game.
