Entering His Senior Campaign Spartan QB Connor Cook Has All the National Attention On His Shoulders

That statement may not be fair, but it is reality. Connor Cook is the Spartan signal caller and with a wealth of QB talent around the nation and especially in the Big Ten, he is perhaps the nation’s top, “Gunslinger.”

As the Spartans continue to garner attention for what many believe may be their first run in the elusive College Football Playoff, the QB spot is for sure going to get the spotlight. Cook is ready for that.

Some throw better, some run better, but few can combine his intangibles for winning and making plays in the clutch. That is why it is no surprise that betting site Pregame.com came out with odds for the 2015 Heisman and Cook’s name was sitting near the top.

As a 35-1 favorite, according the popular site Cook is the 15th most likely winner. All three Ohio State QB’s and running back Ezekiel Elliot are ahead of him on the list representing the B1G best chances in their eyes.

Cook told me this spring, “I can get better. I have to get better. You come back to school to accomplish goals and those goals don’t get accomplished if I am not better.” That is what is refreshing about the Spartans signal caller. Cook will take risks and chances, but he also leads from the front and it is that style that has NFL teams drooling.

That isn’t the end of the news for Cook. His name has been appearing all over the country in well-respected NFL Mock Drafts as a top first round selection.
