Event begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the public.

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State will hold an event to celebrate the life of Mike Sadler on Sunday, July 31 at Spartan Stadium beginning at 3 p.m. The event is open to the public and parking is free.

Gates C and J at Spartan Stadium will open at 2 p.m. Concessions will not be open, but water and non-alcoholic beverages will be permitted into the stadium.

For any past Spartan football players wishing to pay tribute to Sadler on Sunday, please meet at the engagement center in the Spartan Stadium North End Zone at 2:15 p.m.

A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sadler was tragically killed in a car accident Saturday, July 23 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He was 24.

In lieu of flowers and donations, the Sadler family asks that contributions may be sent to the Mike Sadler Legacy Football Scholarship Fund. Earlier on Wednesday, Michigan State Athletics, through the cooperation of the Sadler Family, established the Mike Sadler Legacy Football Scholarship Fund to honor the former Spartan football student-athlete (2011-2014) who earned first-team All-America and All-Big Ten honors as a punter and was the only four-time Academic All-American in school history.
