A college baseball coach had the chance to clap back at former Mississippi State athletic director John Cohen after Auburn's elimination in the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

John Cohen is now in the same role at Auburn, where the university's baseball team reached the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers, who finished the regular season with a 34-21-1 record, entered the tournament as the No. 13 seed.

Despite a winning season, Auburn's seeding received criticism from some due to other teams in their field having stronger records and resumes. It also doesn't help that Cohen is also on the NCAA’s DI Baseball Selection Committee, leading to plenty of accusations of a bias toward SEC teams.

With these accusations surrounding him, Cohen also admitted in an interview on EPSN that he was not familiar with much of the teams in the Northeast. Ironically, Auburn would host a regional that included Penn, a team from the Northeast that won the Ivy League, in its field.

Auburn would fall to Penn in extra innings, 6-3, which sent the Tigers into an elimination game. They lost the elimination game to Southern Miss, ending their season. Penn would go on to defeat Samford to advance to the regional final.

Shortly after the Tigers' loss, an undisclosed college baseball coach from the Northeast told D1Baseball "Looks like this will give John Cohen time to get familiar with the rest of the field."

Time will tell how well Cohen continues to fill his role on the committee.
