Mississippi State Sits in Strong Position as 2027 Safety Begins Lining Up Visits

In this story:
Mississippi State has an early advantage in the recruitment of 2027 Grayson safety London Goggans, and it comes from something simple but meaningful.
He has only one official visit locked in, and it belongs to the Bulldogs.
Goggans told Maroon and White Daily’s Paul Jones that his spring has been busy with workouts and team training, but most of his attention is shifting toward the next phase of his recruitment. He already holds more than 20 offers and has been sorting through the programs that have stayed in steady contact.
“My main offers and the main people I’ve been talking to are Mississippi State, N.C. State, Arkansas, Purdue and Kansas State,” Goggans said to Jones. “But overall I have 21 offers. Before the dead period I went to Wake Forest and Virginia Tech for junior days.”

The visit schedule will pick up again soon, and that is when his list of officials will start to grow. For now, though, Mississippi State is the only school with a date on the books.
“I have one official visit set so far,” Goggans said. “I will set more after I go to some of these spring practices for these colleges and see what other official visits I will set. But the one official visit I have set so far is Mississippi State on June 12‑14. I will probably also officially visit Purdue, Arkansas, Kansas State and maybe N.C. State.”
That early commitment from Goggans to get to Starkville in June is a positive sign for the Bulldogs, especially since he has not visited yet.
His connection with safeties coach Kevie Thompson is a big part of why Mississippi State has stayed near the top of his list.

“It’s been going good with Mississippi State,” Goggans said. “I’ve been talking to Coach Thompson the most. I have not visited them so far but I will be going down there for the spring. I am ready to see their program but I knew Coach Thompson before he got to Mississippi State and we have a good connection. Coach Thompson has been trying to get me down there for a visit. He said I fit the program and he loves my tape.”
Goggans is not in a rush to make a decision. He wants to take his officials, see how he fits with each staff and get a feel for where he can make an early impact.
“When I make my decision is up in the air,” he said. “It will probably be after my official visits. There are not any particular favorites and it is open right now. I want to be somewhere that I can make an impact early and be developed into a better safety.”
For Mississippi State, the path is straightforward.
Get him on campus this spring, make the June official visit count and let Thompson continue to build on a relationship that already gives the Bulldogs a head start.
