Mizzou Guard Sebastian Mack to Enter Transfer Portal

In this story:
Missouri guard Sebastian Mack is set to enter the transfer portal when it opens on April 7, per Joe Tipton. Mack appeared in only 18 games this season for the Tigers, starting in nine of them.
Mack was completely removed from head coach Dennis Gates' rotation by the end of the season, making his last appearance as a tiger on Jan. 27 in a 90-64 road loss to Alabama. He averaged seven points per game while shooting 40.7 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from the perimeter and 67.7 percent from the free throw line.
The Chicago native was a mainstay in the Missouri lineup at the beginning of the season, averaging nine points per game through his first 10 performances. His inability to shoot the three-point shot at a high level ended up being a key factor in his removal from the rotation in its entirety.
His best game of the season came during Missouri's worst outing of the year, logging 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting in its 91-48 blowout defeat against Illinois
Mack played two years at UCLA before hitting the portal to Columbia. He averaged 12.1 points on 38.7 percent shooting as a freshman, playing 26.8 minutes per game, with the Bruins missing the NCAA Tournament in the process. The following season, his role shrank, averaging only 9.6 points per game on 42.6 percent shooting on 20.9 minutes per game. He started in only one game that season, but UCLA made it to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
Coming out of the 2023 recruiting class, Mack was a four-star recruit ranked No. 55 in the country, according to composite rankings. He was also the seventh-best shooting guard. Mack held offers from Oklahoma, Florida State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, New Mexico and a few others.
The departure of Mack marks the second for Missouri this offseason, joining guard Anthony Robinson II. Mack's departure wasn't all that surprising, given his lack of playing time over the last month of the season, but it still creates a hole on the roster. The Tigers did add Jason Crowe Jr. and could potentially return T.O. Barrett and Aaron Rowe at the guard position. Gates is also in the process of trying to add four-star guard Quentin Coleman from St. Louis.
The college basketball transfer portal window officially opens on April 7, just one day after the national championship. That window will close on April 21.
