Once a 4-star recruit, Cayden Green spent his freshman season with the Oklahoma Sooners. Now, Green is returning home to become a Missouri Tiger

Green had five starts and 11 appearances for the Sooners this season. Those starts came at the left guard position. He has three years of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-5, 325-pounder was also ranked as the No. 1 offensive lineman in the transfer portal.

Green was a composite 4-star and top-100 recruit coming out of high school, ranked No. 93 in the country and the No. 11 offensive tackle.

Green could come in and make an immediate impact for the Tigers, as there are spots on the offensive line to be filled. Senior Javon Foster is headed to the NFL and could be a high draft pick. Senior Xavier Delgado, who started every regular season game this season, is also gone.

The Tigers also lost two offensive linemen in the portal, both having a chance to carve out a larger role next season. With all the departures, a spot in the starting lineup at either tackle or guard could emerge for Green. He will have at least three more years of eligibility with the Tigers.

The only other school that had a shot at landing Green was Oregon, who he visited a day before coming to Columbia on Dec. 17. Though they were only challengers, there wasn't much competition for the highly-touted offensive lineman.

Green becomes the third transfer to join Missouri this offseason, alongside cornerback Toriano Pride Jr and Marcus Carroll. Though they only have three players transferring thus far, they are all highly ranked. According to On3 composite rankings, Green is currently the No. 9 transfer in the country.

It is too early to say if the Tigers are done or not. Aeneas Peebles, an early target for the Tigers, announced his commitment to Virginia Tech on the morning of Dec. 18.

Multiple transfers have taken visits to Columbia, including Georgia linebacker Darris Smith and Florida defensive lineman Chris McClellan Jr. At the very least, the Tigers have secured three high-impact players out of the portal so far.
