Jeremiah Alvis Updates Recruitment, Talks Schools Involved

The 3-star versatile DB's recruitment is starting to pick up. Read more below on the Helena, Ala native's recruitment process.

Jeremiah Alvis is only ranked on one national recruiting site. However, the rising junior's recruitment is starting to heat up,

Alvis is only ranked by 247Sports, coming in as the No. 46 cornerback in the country and No. 22 in the state of Alabama.

A few schools are reaching out to Alvis the most at this point, cementing their positions in his recruitment. He's hearing the most from Missouri, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

Alvis traveled to Oxford, Mis for a visit with Ole Miss. He was able to learn more about the staff and program at this preliminary visit.

" I was able to talk to Lane Kiffin and Pete Golding on how I would be able to help their program out," Alvis said.

He was also able to go down to Mississippi State for a visit. The Bulldogs have been in his recruitment since the very beginning, offering him when he was just a Sophomore.

The Bulldogs also underwent a coaching change, bringing in former Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, among other new hires. Alvis has focused on building new relationships with these new coaches.

"The new staff came and re-offered me. Since then I've been talking to them every day and building my relationship with them," Alvis said.

The Bulldogs are making sure Alvis is a priority in their 2025 class.

"They're just telling me than I'm the guy they want at my position for their program," Alvis said.

Alvis has been in communication with schools that have yet to offer him, including Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

As for Missouri, the Tigers are showing lots of love. Cornerbacks coach Al Pogue is from the same area as Alvis, so building that relationship has been easier.

"He'll come down to my school every time he is down here and tells me how much they want me at Missouri," Alvis said.

Alvis was on campus for the battle of the Tigers, when they fell 49-39.

"I felt welcomed with very open arms. I felt like a priority to Missouri," Alvis said.

He has a visit planned at Missouri

As for his recruitment as a whole, its an even race. No team stands out more than another,

"I think it's just neutral. I'm just trying to enjoy the process and see where it takes me," Alvis said.

He has other visits planned at other schools. He's visiting Alabama on March. 4, Tennessee on April. 1 and Mississippi State on April. 30.

A decision more than likely is not coming for a while. His recruitment his starting to pick up with bigger programs sending in offers and seeing multiple programs and building relationships is a priority.

"Since more and more offers are coming in, I just have to site-see until I make a decision," Alvis said.
